Self-declaration for submission of a master’s thesis

When submitting your master’s thesis in Studentweb, you must confirm that you are familiar with the University of Oslo’s rules regarding citations and references to sources.

To submit your thesis in Studentweb, you must confirm that you have written the thesis in accordance with the following rules regarding citations and references to sources:

  1. In your thesis/your parts of the thesis, you do not reproduce previous work without stating your own work as a source.
  2. In your thesis/your parts of the thesis you do not reproduce the work of others without stating the source (for example syllabus literature, academic literature, articles, websites, co-students’ theses and notes etc.).
  3. In your thesis/your parts of the thesis, you have used citations and references to sources in the correct manner.
  4. In your thesis/your parts of the thesis, you have stated all references and sources that you have used in the list of references.

You must follow these rules irrespectively of whether you have written the thesis alone or with others.

Violations of these rules may be regarded as attempted cheating and may entail annulment of the examination and exclusion from universities and university colleges in Norway.
