Seminars REL3181 autumn 2012

Seminars given in relation to the subjects REL 3181 Religious texts in original language og REL 4181 Historical Religious texts. The seminars will be given in English if needed. All seminars are open to anyone interested.

Students who are to hand in an exam on the course REL3181 may choose from these seminars:

Beginner's course in Sumerian.

Sumeric numbers and mathematics.

Reading Hammurapi's Law (Akkadian) in comparison to Hetittic law.

Beginner's course in Egyptian: mondays 16:15-18:00, seminar room 3, P.A. Munch's house.

Aśokas inscriptions, Maghadī etc.

Bodhisatvapiṭaka, text in 900's Brahmi, Sanskrit, Tibetan and Chinese.

Euclid's Elementa, Greek, Latin, Arabic, etc.

Plato's Timaeus, Greek, Latin (Cicero, Chalcidius, Ficino)

Time and place will be set during an information meeting at Friday 24. August, 14:15 August, room 354 P.A. Munch's house.
