The Participation Room

The goal of the Participation Room is to bring city planners, developers, researchers and community members together to explore crucial steps in Oslo’s pursuit to improve public participation processes.

On December 2nd 2019, 18 guests attended the workshop and addressed the question - what does a “good enough” participation process look like? This was a needed step towards better citizen involvement in Oslo. The students built connections between sectors and worked directly with the City of Oslo’s Participation Coordinator and the The Agency for Planning and Building Services . They are now distributing key findings.

These four students envision the Participation Room continuing interdisciplinary discussions in the future and working towards developing guidelines to help practitioners design better participation processes in their own projects.
