Redirect Tool

Redirect Tool is a tool in Canvas that allows you to add external resources to your Canvas room's menu. You can use Redirect Tool as many times as you want in your Canvas room.

How to use

Add an external resource to a room menu with the Redirect Tool:

  1. Click on Settings in the room menu and then choose the Apps tab
  2. Click on the picture with the blue arrow

  3. Click the + Add app button
  4. Write the name and insert the external resource's URL, check the box for Show in Course Navigation, and then click the Add app button

  5. Refresh your browser and you will then see the link appear in the room menu:

  6. If you want to move the link in the room menu, go to Settings > Navigation and change the order of the items in the room menu.

To hide/remove a link from the room menu:

  1. Click on Settings in the room menu and then choose the Navigation tab
  2. Drag and drop the item(s) you want to remove, to the bottom
  3. Remember to save

Evaluation of the tool

Not relevant, Redirect Tool is a built-in function of Canvas.
