Conducting a digital oral exam

This section of the guide describes the 3 main phases of conducting a digital oral exam for the examiner:

  1. Before the exam
  2. During the exam
  3. After the exam

Before the exam

You will receive an invitation / Zoom link for the digital oral exam from the course teacher. The Zoom link will be sent by email. Press the Zoom link well in advance of the exam start (by appointment with the course teacher). Click "Open Zoom":

During the exam

Remember to activate your camera.

NB: It is not allowed to record a digital oral exam The course teacher should ask the participants to perform a sound check before the exam starts.

Conduct the digital oral exam as normal.

The participants must decide if there will be any screen-sharing before the exam starts. See UiO's guide on how to share your screen or use your tablet / phone as a digital blackboard.

After the exam

When the exam is complete, you and the course teacher can choose to grade the candidate after a short internal discussion, or at a later time. The course teacher manages the student's admission and removal from the Zoom meeting.

If the candidate requests a grade explanation it must be made immediately to the course teacher / examiner.
