Meetings
When: Wednesdays from 9.00–10.00/10.30 am. (the Perc&Aesth forum lasts until 10.30; the other two forums last until 10.00).
Where: Roundtable meeting room (V217).
From Fall 2023, the cluster will be structured around three alternating forums: (1) the Perception and Aesthetic forum; (2) the Rhythm forum; and (3) the TEAR forum.
The Perception and Aesthetic forum (led by Emil Bernhardt and Remy Martin)
The Perception and Aesthetics group brings together researchers from several disciplines to discuss questions such as: how can we explore relations between psychological perception and aesthetic experience? What is the role aesthetics in an interdisciplinary environment like RITMO? How can perspectives from the humanities inform and enrich our understanding of perceptual experience and meaning.
The Rhythm forum (led by Guilherme S. Câmara and Kjell Andreas Oddekalv)
The rhythm forum discusses music-theoretical concepts of rhythm, including concrete musical cases, ongoing research, and relevant literature on musical rhythm and groove.
The TEAR forum (led by Ragnhild Brøvig)
The TEAR forum focuses on Timing, Expectations and Attention in complex Rhythmic contexts from an interdisciplinary perspective.
