Travel and networking for juniors

There are several grants and scholarships available for young researchers who want to go abroad. Below is a small selection.

UNIFOR

UNIFOR manages NOK 2.3 billion for more than 200 charitable foundations, primarily within research and higher education. On their web pages, you can browse calls and grants of all topics.

Peder Sather Grant Program

Funds many different kinds of projects, hereamong PhD student exchange between Norway and Berkeley. See information here.

Scandinavia Japan Sasakawa Foundation

Funds mobility to/from Japan for young researchers. Read more.

Fulbright - travel to the US

COST Actions - networking in Europe

The European COST organization funds networks with specific purposes and themes, called Actions. You may apply to create or join an Action, which will then fund your travels to/from network meetings. Your research adviser will notify you each year when new Actions are available for joining. Norway’s contact person for COST can help you get started: RCN’s Trude Dypvik tdy@forskningsradet.no.
