Why do we conduct the working environment survey?
The working environment survey ‘takes the temperature’ of the psychosocial working environment at individual units and at the institute/faculty as a whole. The survey and the follow-up meetings provide employees with the opportunity to say something about how things are at work and to influence their working environment and everyday working life. This feedback will help managers in their efforts to promote a good working environment.
The survey in February 2024
On Monday 12 February, you will receive an email with a link to a personal survey. Please complete the survey before the deadline of 3 March. The email will come from ark-kontakt@ntnu.no titled ‘Arbeidsmiljø-undersøkelse ved UiO / Work Environment Survey at UiO’.
During March, the results will be presented at your unit. You will then have the opportunity to discuss these with your colleagues.
In the period leading up to the summer, you will be involved in developing measures for the preservation and development of your working environment. Follow-up work will continue after the summer.
Anonymity
All information will be processed confidentially. It is not possible for anyone at UiO or the faculty to identify the answers from individuals.
Who should participate?
- employees who hold a permanent or temporary position
- employees who do not have an hourly or monthly contract
- employees who hold a position of at least 40%
- employees who have had UiO as their main workplace for at least 3 months before the survey is sent out
- persons who are employed at UiO throughout the period the survey is available.
About the survey
UiO conducts working environment surveys
- because a good, safe working environment is important for us to enjoy our time at work, maintain good health and perform our jobs.
- to get an overview of how employees experience their work situation.
- to obtain a basis for strategic working environment initiatives and organisational development measures.
- because a good working environment is necessary to realise UiO’s goals.
- to meet the requirements of the Working Environment Act regarding a safe working environment, health-promoting workplaces, and systematic mapping and follow-up of the working environment.
How can I contribute?
You can contribute by participating in the survey and follow-up processes at your unit. A good working environment does not happen by itself, it requires our continuous efforts to develop it. The survey takes approximately 15 minutes to complete.
How often does the survey take place?
The survey is conducted collectively at UiO every three years, starting this year.
The ARK survey is designed for the entire university and university college sector in Norway, and is a collaborative project between the universities of Oslo, Bergen, Tromsø and Trondheim. The last time the ARK survey was conducted at MED was in 2022, but UiO as a whole did not carry out the survey.
