  • Energy saving at UiO. UiO has long worked to reduce energy use. High electricity prices and increased costs mean that UiO is now introducing additional measures to further cut consumption. Only Domus Medica and Harald Schelderup's house of the faculty's buildings are operated by UiO. The rest of the buildings are operated by others than UiO, but here too some of the savings can take effect. Follow messages from local management. The faculty encourages students and staff to think about energy saving in their daily lives by, for example, remembering to turn off the lights. These are the new UiO measures:

    • Lower temperature: Reduce temperature in the buildings - not lower than 19 degrees. The measure will be adapted to the activities in the buildings such as research, lab activities and museum magazines.

    • Shared use: In some buildings, there will be shared use of student areas and reading rooms after 16, where we maintain an indoor temperature of 19 degrees and ventilation after 16. Ventilation in areas not in use is turned off and the temperature is lowered further after 16.
