A boost for diversity, equality and inclusion at MEDArbeidsgruppen

The faculty's Action Plan for Diversity, Equality and Inclusion is now in place. The faculty’s LIM committee and Helsam’s working group on racism, discrimination and health are now organising a seminar to discuss ways forward. Creating a fair exam schedule for second year medical students was a challenging process during the pandemic. A study now shows that it was a success.

A woman's heartbreaking scream can be heard across the Paediatric Department. You don't need to have heard it before to understand what it means. Medical student Julie Ytre-Eide, who also works at the Centre for Sustainable Healthcare Education (SHE), writes about her experiences from her exchange at the University of Gothenburg this autumn.

Leadership Forum: Overview of meeting dates. The next meeting is on Tuesday 20 February. Agenda items and documents may be submitted until 12:00 on the last Thursday before the meeting. Minutes of the previous meeting can be found here.

University Board meetings in 2024. The meetings are live-streamed and open to anyone who would like to attend. The next meeting takes place on 6 February.

  • See all important deadlines regarding applications for research funding in Funding opportunities

  • Keep track of the annual cycle for award announcements. There are currently lots of important announcements with tight deadlines. Nominate your outstanding partners and colleagues!

  • Open call for proposals from UiO:Life Science: Support for initiatives at UiO that are compatible with UiO’s life science strategy for research, innovation and education, with the goal of securing and strengthening international competitiveness in life science.

IMB: Putting animals to sleep can give veterinarians suicidal thoughts. Helene Seljenes Dalum has carried out research on what causes veterinarians to have suicidal thoughts. In June, she completed her doctorate at IMB, which brought her a little nearer to discovering the reasons behind the statistics.
