Working with the new strategy for the University of Oslo 2020-2030

The strategy draft and our hearing statement is only written in Norwegian. However, parts of our statement is based on the Faculty’s new strategy, which is also written in English.

In our relatively comprehensive hearing statement, we emphasized the importance of the University having a clear basic research profile. It also needs to invest in developing good learning environments for students and staff, in addition to developing a strategy for investments in research and educational infrastructure. Furthermore, we need to work more systematically with the recruitment of staff and students.

We ask the University of Oslo to be more clear about what we can and should do to contribute to sustainable societal development. And to put the climate challenges more clearly on the agenda. Specifically, we propose that the University establish a national centre for global sustainability, with emphasis on the challenges associated with climate change.
