As project leader you can only submit one application to one of these calls:
- Researcher project
- Researcher project for young talents
- Researcher project - Mobility
- Collaboration project
- Knowledge-building Project for Industry
Internal Process at PSI
All applications sent from the department need to be approved by the management. The approval process is an integrated part of the application and budget support process from the research administration.
All applicants need to inform us that they intend to apply by the registration deadline. The research administration need to know this so they can assist all applicants in the process.
We are planning to arrange budget meetings with applicants with new project ideas in November and December 2021. All budget need to be ready two weeks before the deadline.

Information for the budget
- If you are applying for a postdoc position you should apply for funding for three years. The department will not hire postdocs for shorter than three years. Researcher positions may be hired for indefinite periods of time.
- PhDs and postdocs can sometimes get an offer of an additional teaching year (fourth year). You should still only ask the funder to fund three years in the budget. The management will then make a decision in the hiring phase of a candidate if the Department need more teachers and if the candidate has the right competence for that.
- The applicant should discuss buy-out / "frikjøp" before or during the application process with their Head of Section. The buy-out will be taken equally from teaching and research time.
- Project leaders should not have more than 50 % buy-out in total.
