The calls for proposals
As a project leader, you can only submit one application to one of these calls:
- Researcher project for Scientific Renewal (Thematic Priority Call)
- Researcher Project for Young Talents (Thematic Priority Call)
- Collaborative Project to Meet Societal and Industry-related Challenges
Internal Process at PSI
All applications sent from the Department need to be approved by the management. The approval process is an integrated part of the research administration's application and budget support process.
All applicants must inform us that they intend to apply by the registration deadline. The research administration needs to know this so they can assist all applicants.
We plan to arrange budget meetings with applicants with new project ideas in November and December 2022. All budgets need to be ready two weeks before the deadline.

Information for the budget
- If you are applying for a postdoc position, you should apply for funding for three years. The Department will not hire postdocs for shorter than three years. Researcher positions can be filled for indefinite periods.
- PhDs and postdocs can sometimes get an offer of an additional teaching year (fourth year). You should only ask the funder to fund three years in the budget. The management will then decide in the hiring phase of a candidate if the Department needs more teachers and if the candidate has the right competence.
- The applicant should discuss buy-out / "frikjøp" (from teaching and research time in equal measure) before or during the application process with their Head of Section.
- Project leaders should not have more than 50 % buy-out in total.
