3. Use of research assistants in the autumn 2018

Already in use

  • 20% Social psychology lab
  • 20% Video analysis lab
  • 20% MRI lab (externally financed until February 2019)
  • 20% Nettskjema and programming (clinic)

Available

  • Two 20% for the rest of 2018

It is suggested that we use them on EEG Lab – Rene H. or FMRI Lab – Tor or CogLab – Bruno. Head of research will make prioritisation. For the next year it is important to identify needs for RA’s.

Tor informed that this autumn semester Joakim Dyrnes will start a project on the organization of infrastructure at PSI. Members of the board will be involved to provide input and the board will discuss and prioritize the outcome of the work.

4. Needs in 2019, PSI budget and AVIT

It is important to document equipment, and RA needs for the labs for 2019. For other infrastructure it is important to identify needs over 100.000,-. We have identified two areas for possible AVIT Applications:

  • Upgrade of the Philips Scanner. Estimated cost 2 000 000 NOK.
  • Purchase of new eyetrackers. Estimated cost 3-5 000 000 NOK.

This is not urgent but nonetheless they will need to be replaced within the next 2-3 years.

5. Seminar to celebrate new labs and present old labs

Head of research suggests that the seminar can replace the Christmas seminar this year. The idea is to give short presentations in the auditorium presenting the research and a tour of the house in groups with demonstrations in the labs.

6. Next meeting

October 30th
