TIK NEWS WEEK 35

TIK-logo

The TIK biweekly newsletter is with this edition relaunched. We will use it to improve the internal information from the centre management with short presentations about ongoing formal processes, board activity, teaching activities etc. But please participate in creating an informed community of colleagues by making known your whereabouts at conferences, field work or similar to be included in the newsletter!

The autumn semester started off the 12 August with 42 students present at the introduction lecture followed by "Meet the new students" in the kitchen area. TIK's Master programmes are among the most popular at the UiO, and we are glad to have a large and active student body.

An interesting introduction to further discussion at TIK about the education activities, was the presentation at the staff meeting on 22 August on teaching at bachelor level by Professor Jemima Garcia-Godos Naveda, from the Department of Sociology and Human Geography.

With the staff meeting, the semester was well underway, please see Kristin's presentation for a summary. Staff meetings combined with this newsletter are the main channels for internal information.
