Considering applying? Get in touch!

We recommend that everyone who is considering applying contacts SPARK Norway before the application deadline to discuss whether their project is mature enough to be admitted to the program.

– The projects can be in the early stages, but it must be more than just an idea on paper. Researchers need to have conducted some work in the lab or clinic that demonstrates the idea's potential to lead to new technology, treatment, or service, says Morten Egeberg, administrative leader at UiO:Life Science and head of the SPARK Norway programme.

Valuable mentor network and educational forum

SPARK Norway is based on the renowned Stanford SPARK programme. Participants receive advising, mentorship, and milestone-based funding to the projects that are admitted as full SPARKees.

The projects also participate in industry events abroad to expose themselves to the commercial world and build their own networks and market understanding. In addition to individual meetings for each project, all projects participate in closed meetings with mentors and open meetings – the SPARK Norway Educational Forum – aimed at increasing knowledge about the path from idea to implementation.

According to Egeberg, the greatest benefit for the participants is access to experienced mentors from the industry and the commercial network of SPARK Norway.
