SPARK Social Innovation - Call for new projects

SPARK Social Innovation is a two-year innovation programme which aims to strengthen innovation activities, in particular within the social sciences and humanities. Researchers at UiO can apply to participate in the program, though only applicants that have been approved/prioritized by their faculty (unit) will be evaluated in this round.

Several variations of the SPARK program exists around the world, but SPARK Social Innovation is so far unique. The University of Oslo is the first institution to develop their own version of the SPARK program focusing on social innovation. We are happy to announce the second call for projects - following up on the pilot that was started in 2021.There are in principle no thematic limitations for the projects, as demonstrated by the wide range of topics covered by the six pilot projects (webpage in Norwegian only).

A key part of the SPARK concept is close follow-up of the selected projects, and project leaders will be appointed their own mentor(s). In addition, Educational Forums are organized on relevant topics. These events are, however, open to all that are interested. UiO:Energy and Environment is currently the host for SPARK Social Innovation, Elisabeth Svennevik and Dennis Gan (acting) are SPARK managers.

Two phase application process:

Phase 1:
No later than 24th April 2023 (Monday)* - Project name, principal investigator/project leader, short description (a couple of sentences) of the project to be submitted through ePhorte system by each faculty/unit.
