Status for UiO:Energy applications

Two funding opportunities had their deadlines before Christmas. For the first time it was possible to apply for UiO:Energy Thematic Research Groups (TRG), in addition there was the annual deadline for UiO:Energy seed funding.

Thematic Research Groups

For the very first time it was possible to apply for so-called UiO:Energy Thematic Research Groups: Two-year, interdisciplinary projects, each with a total funding of 4 MNOK. For this first iteration, priority was given to two of our four main research areas – “Energy Systems” and “Energy Transition and Sustainable Societies”.

As the call closed on December 15, we had received 8 applications in total. We were positively surprised by the amount of interfacultary collaboration across UiO these applications contain, see the illustration below (project coordinator in red, main partner in black).

The applications will be sent to external reviewers, and we hope to be able to announce which two projects are selected for funding before Easter.

Seed funding for activities to strengthen energy and energy related research

Our annual seed money call had a deadline November 15. We received 11 applications for a total of approximately 3.3 MNOK, both numbers slightly lower than the last two years. We only have funding corresponding to about half this amount, and we are in the final stage of selecting the projects which will be supported. The successful applicants will most likely be notified next week.
