Career opportunities

An MA degree in Chinese Civilization qualifies you for a wide range of careers in which Chinese language skills and competence in the broad field of Chinese culture are required. The degree also provides you with more broadly recognized skills relating to, for instance, project development, source collection, analysis and argumentation, as well as written and oral communication. You will therefore also find career opportunities in the Civil Service, the Foreign Service, refugee work, aid organizations, travel industry, journalism, cultural work, information work, publishing, education, translation, and research. The Faculty of Humanities also has a PhD programme with the option of specialization for students who wish to complete a research project at PhD level.
