Programme structure

NB! The programme structure below is new as of Autumn 2017. Students that were admitted before Autumn 2017, should refer to the old programme structure.

The course of study consists of a total of 120 credits that are distributed in the following manner:

  • Compulsory courses, 40 credits
  • Elective courses, 20 credits
  • One out of four 60 credits "packages" in the 3rd and 4th semester

Recommended order of the course of study

EAST4591 – Master's Thesis in East Asian Culture and History (discontinued) or

3. semester

EAST4010 – Research Methodology in East Asian Studies (discontinued) and 

EAST4610 – Voices from East Asia: How to Communicate Research Results or EAST4110 – Readings in East Asian Culture and History (discontinued) or

Semester abroad or

 
2. semester EAST4530 – Topics in East Asian Culture and History (discontinued) Elective course Elective course

With approval from your supervisor it is possible to apply for recognition of 30 credits taken in other relevant subjects. Contact the student advisor for more information.
