The university has exchange agreements with several Japanese universities and the subject community (IKOS) can help with applications and guidance. And Chinese as a subject has a considerable network with leading researchers in China, Taiwan and many other countries. There are ample opportunities for a period of study abroad.
Students from relevant institutions around the world are invited to apply.
Students will be encouraged to establish contacts with scholars from East Asia and/or relevant institutions in other parts of the world. In many cases, travel abroad will be encouraged as part of the studies. This is particularly relevant during the writing of the master thesis, but it is also possible to replace some of the courses above with relevant courses from other universities.
