Using genetic markers to infer population history

Molecular genetic techniques are widely used to study human population history, including DNA from living people and ancient DNA from archaeological remains. In addition, DNA from domestic animals (for example cattle, sheep and dogs) can help understand past human societies.

A master project is available using domestic animals as models for understanding human history and settlement.
