Start of studies for Master in Education fall semester 2024

Welcome all new students to the Department of Education (IPED)!

We are looking forward to welcoming you as a student to the Master's degree program in Education (MIE) at the University of Oslo (UiO). This website provides you with useful information about being a new master student.

Start-up for master students

The Department of Education will organize a mandatory welcome seminar on August 14 from 09.00-15.10 for all new master students, including both international and Norwegian master programs. Also, we hope you can join us for a social gathering afterwards, from 15.10-19.00, where we will serve food. At the seminar, you will receive important information about the program and what it's like to be a new master student at IPED. The seminar will be conducted in English and will have both social and academic activities. If you are unable to attend the seminar, your absence must be approved by the study administration. In such a case, please contact us via e-mail.

Program for welcome seminar

We also extend a warm welcome to all new MIE-students to an orientation meeting on August 16 at 09.15-12.00 in Helga Engs building, Seminar room 234. Please find details on how to get to UiO. During this meeting, you will be introduced to the administrative staff, the academic coordinators for the specializations and your fellow students. If you are unable to attend, please send us an e-mail.

For international students we encourage you to attend the digital information meeting on August 13 hosted by central office. Additionally, make sure to familiarize yourselves with all the important information on the website for students arriving from abroad.
