Reimbursement of field/lab activity related to the MSc thesis

All active master's students in Geosciences can apply to get field activities related to the work with the master's thesis covered.

Students enrolled in the master's program in Geosciences and CS: Geoscience have the opportunity to apply for reimbursement of expenses up to NOK 15,000 (including VAT) for activities directly related to their master's thesis work. These expenses may include fieldwork (such as accommodation, travel, food), lab work, or similar activities.

When it comes to analyses that cannot be conducted at the University of Oslo (UiO), external laboratories can be utilized. However, it is important to be aware of the specific procedures for invoicing UiO in such cases.

Please note that there are certain expenses that are not covered, including the purchase of equipment such as compasses, shovels, machines, conference fees, travel costs to conferences, driving allowances, and expenses related to travel and accommodation for studying (e.g., courses at UNIS).

Conference fees can potentially be covered by the Industrial Liaison fund (login required) at the Department of Geosciences, but approval and application must be made by the UiO supervisor. Students must have a scientific contribution to participate in this fund. For more information, please contact the fund's secretary.

To initiate the reimbursement process, please click the button below and fill out the requested information. You will then be contacted with further instructions on how to submit your reimbursement request and the required documentation. Please ensure that the questionnaire is completed by the student.
