Career opportunities

After having completed a master's degree you will, in addition to having solid knowledge of physics, also have acquired significant training in analytical methods and way of thinking, also programming and use of advanced computer tools.

Knowledge and insight into physics is fundamental for modern technology, and economists also get mathematical models from physics.

Many work tasks and career paths will therefore be open. Research and development within the private and public sectors, management and research administration, programming and development in the computer industry in addition to teaching are some relevant examples.

Many master's degree students that have graduated from theoretical physics continue doing a doctorate, not necessarily in theoretical physics, but also within other fields, both in Norway and abroad.
