Food & Paper: Creative Projects at the intersection of Art, Science, and Technology (Kontogeorgakopoulos)

This presentation is focused on the research and practice of Alexandros Kontogeorgakopoulos, a sound-media artist, electronic music composer, and digital musical instrument designer and maker. He will present music haptics and composition projects, digital fabrication and musical instruments, and sonification of quantum and computational systems.

Alexandros Kontogeorgakopoulos is an academic, musician, and artist who conducts transdisciplinary research and creates work at the intersection of art, science, and technology. He has a scientific, engineering, and musical background, reflected in his creative practice and techno-scientific exploration. After completing his Ph.D. in 2008 in France, he joined Cardiff School of Art and Design (CSAD) at Cardiff Metropolitan University, where he is currently Senior Lecturer in Sound and Media Art. His artistic work, which includes audiovisual performances, installations, and compositions, has been presented in Europe and the US. As an artist/researcher, he often develops his own software and hardware and explores novel technical, conceptual, and artistic approaches.
