There are no hotels in near viscinity of the Blindern campus, but it is easy to get around with public transport, so staying anywhere in the city centre would work well. Below are some suggestions for budget accommodation.

This hotel in the center of Oslo is more like a self service supermarket. There’s no reception desk. You book a room by phone or online and collect a keycard and pay at the hotel terminal. The guest house was opened in 1927 by the Coch sisters. They originally provided board and lodging for bachelors. The guest house featured in author Lars Saabye Christensen's award winning novel The Half Brother that was published in 2001. Nice location behind the Royal Palace, and can walk down to Nationaltheatret to catch the metro to Blindern. Room with a shared bathroom in the corridor from NOK 539 per night.

Oslo Vandrerhjem Haraldsheim
This is a popular youth hostel for backpackers on a budget. Single rooms with bathroom from NOK 720. There are 307 beds in 88 rooms, including single and four-bed rooms. The youth hostel is about four kilometers from the city center, but it is easy to get to Blindern from the Sinsen metro station.

A popular youth hostel that attracts backpackers from all round the world. Single rooms from NOK 640. It may not be the most salubrious part of Oslo, but close to hip Grünerløkka. The 17 tram run all the way to Blindern, otherwize it is possible to switch to the faster metro at Oslo S.
