Outputs

The talkback system can send audio to both the control room speakers and the lab stereo speakers either side of the TV’s. Output levels are controlled using the rotary dials above the Tascam screen.

  • Rotary dial 1 (2x mono line out): Control room stereo speakers
  • Rotary dial 2 (headphone 1): default not connected
  • Rotary dial 3 (headphone 2): default not connected
  • Rotary dial 5 (headphone 3): default not connected
  • Rotary dial 5 (headphone 4): Lab stereo speakers

Headphone outputs 1-3 can be used for extra headphones in the control room. The corresponding headphone ports are on the back of the Tascam mixer.

Troubleshooting

No signal from the talkback mic:

Ensure the silver audio interface beneath the BigKnob is plugged in. It does not have a power switch, so the barrel plug on the back must be manually plugged and unplugged.

No audio from Audio PC / minijack:

Check the position of the switch for Channel 6 on the back (left = minijack, right = Audio PC).
