The presentation of the first topic is due on thursday 3rd of March. It should be presented as a debate and last 8 minutes. Discussion in class will follow. NB if you include words not seen in the book(s) you have studied (not recommended) you need to write these on the blackboard first. These guidelines will also apply for future presentations. Use MSA for the presentations.

Complete nr. 2 and 3 p. 42-43 to read in class مع الحركات. To submit nr.3 p.71. Translate to Arabic the following sentences to read in class:
1- Most of the Arabic countries have lived long years under the tyranny of their leaders.
2- Hunger has spread in many towns and villages in Syria and caused the death of many civilians.
3- There are different opinions about the way (how) Islam spread so quickly in Europe and Asia.
4- Many Arabs feel that they cannot express themselves freely for fear of the repression of the regimes in their countries.
5- Most European countries focus on finding ( creating) solutions to the problem of refugees which has no precedent in recent years.
6- These weapons are (+ were) used in wars against the civilian populations and cause (+ caused) a great deal of damage.

Prepare the same homework posted for last Thursday 28/1. You will then submit the essay (about the 17th of May) to Mary.
Use the weekend to repeat the grammar (in the chapters 13 to 20 in الكتاب ١ and chapters 1 to 3 in الكتاب ٢, as well as reading about this grammar in Abu Chakra).

Repeat the vocabulary and اسم الفاعل والمفعول in lesson 2. Listen to the text p. 47 and add the missing words as well حركات الاعراب to read in class. To discuss in class " how do you/ or Norwegians in general celebrate the 17th of May?". كيف يحتفل النرويجيون بالسابع عشر من شهر أيار؟ Focus will be on the expressions on p.46.

Repeat the vocabulary and grammar of lesson 3 in al-Kitaab. In addition read Abu Chakra chapter 26 (p.195-196), all of chapter 12 and all of chapter 19. Choose 3 expressions from p 76 and write sentences with these (or a short paragraph including the 3). You will submit this to the teacher. Translate to Arabic exercise 22 p.89 nr.1-2-5-9 (and 10, optional), and exercise 24 sentences 2-3-4-7-8 to read in class.
