This course explores connections between music(s) and various concepts of culture – that is across disciplines such as musicology, cultural studies, popular music studies, performance studies, sound studies, jazz studies, music pedagogy, media studies, music anthropology, music sociology, and ethnomusicology.

Teaching starts Tuesday Aug. 24. Main textbook is: Barker and Jane. Cultural Studies: Theory and Practice.
