Clarification for the essay question: The essay questions refers to a "case", but it could be considered as a "situation" that has different aspects, some related more to an individual, Amanda, and some related more to the claims of the Tribe of Loners. You should try to make your essay cover both parts of the situation described. You can choose the manner that you organize your essay freely, but you need to take into account both parts of the situation.

For your first lecture you should have a look at the following documents on the course semester page. It is one case and two general comments. The general comments you will consult throughout the course. Read critically, and complement them with the insights that you gain during the course. The case is from the Human Rights Committee. Observe both the admissibility and the merits part. Critical reading is appreciateted! In addition, there are readings that you should do for this week are available in FRONTER. The chapter by Tore Lindholm is very for having an overview of the field and it includes case law.  You are of course not required to know all of this right now.FRONTER will be a means of communication among us, teachers and students and administration during the course.
