Students who have not yet got their mandatory assignment papers approved, must resubmit ASAP. The administration need the list of approved candidates by Friday, November 25.

The deadline for submitting solutions is Monday, November 21, at 10.00. Place: Room 144.

The solution must be labelled with your candidate number (NOT your name).

The solution should be submitted on paper in an easily legible format (hand-written or made by text editor). The language should be Norwegian or English.

If it is impossible for you to submit the solution on paper at the appointed time and place, please notify the lecturer well in advance of the deadline.

We plan to make the set of problems for the home exam available on Friday this week (11/11), around noon. Stay alert!

Tentative deadline for submitting your solutions will be Monday 21/11.

Incorrect information has appeared on the website concerning the plenary problem solving session on Friday, 28/10. There is no cancellation this Friday, teaching will take place as usual 10.15 - 12.

This is due to a software error, which will be corrected by the administration as soon as possible. Teaching offered on Fridays is still just the plenary problem solving, 10.15 - 12. The lecture on Monday 10/10 is cancelled (due to collision with a Ph.D. defense). The teaching plan will be modified accordingly.

The lab exercises in FYS2160 will be organized during the weeks 42 (Oct. 17 - 21) and 43 (Oct. 24 - 28), in room FV225.

There will be 3 lab groups, each accommodating up to 24 students. The respective times are:

A: Monday, 13.15 - 17.00 B: Tuesday, 13.15 - 17.00 C: Wednesday, 13.15 - 17.00

Registration forms are posted on the board outside room FV225.

Deadline for signing up is Friday, October 7.

There will be a lecture on Tuesday 6/9, taking place in auditorium Ø157 in the east wing.

A few pieces of practical information:

Plenary presentations of solutions to selected exercises are given on Fridays (10.15 - 12, Store fysiske auditorium), starting on Friday, 26 August. Sets of exercises will be specified for each week, please refer to the detailed teaching plan.

There will be a mandatory home assignment (midterm exam) around mid-November, counting approximately 30% at the final assessment.

In addition, there will be an earlier, mandatory home assignment with tentative submission deadline early October.

In October (most likely week 42 and 43), there will be two mandatory lab exercises. More details will appear as soon as the lab schedule is fixed.
