Hint for 5.9: Start with the binomial distribution. Then use N1<<N and do a clever approximation of N! to get the Poisson distribution, and work with that for the rest of the problem.
Problem set 07
The problems to be discussed on 4 March deal with fluctuations and with the differences between the classical and quantum statistics. They are 4.24, 5.5, 5.7 and 5.9 in the booklet.
