Dear all, welcome back to a new week with FYS5429/9429.

This week we continue with our discussion of 

Deep generative models

Our focus is on

  1. Summary of Variational Autoencoders

  2. Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs)

  3. Start discussion of diffusion models

For the lecture this week we recommend the following background reading with discussion of codes as well

We will have a regular lecture on Tuesday May 7 as well and we may also have our final lecture the week thereafter. Note that for that week we will need to change day to Monday the 13th due to a workshop from Tuesday the 14th to May 16, see https://sites.google.com/view/physmlworkshop24/home for more info. This workshop may be of interest to many of you.
