Dear all,

All the sensor work was completed today, but it was not possible to get it published due to some minor administrative adjustments that was needed. We are sorry, but the final publication of your results will be available on monday.

There have been some questions letated to what is possible to bring to the exam.

What you can bring to the exam is imited to:

1. The course book (Spong, Hutchinson and Vidyasagar)

2. Collection of formulas (Karl Rottman)

3. No other written material is allowed

Some handwriting in the teach book (Spong et.al.) book is ok if it is limited to the understanding of what is presented in the teach book (Spong et.al.).

A revised solution to the exam of 2018 was just published to the UIO Github repository public-exams-and-solutions.

You are not allowed to bring a calculator to the exam. A calculator is provided in Inspera.

Those making a new attempt at the INF3480/INF4380 exam will get the same exam as is given to students of IN3140/IN4140.

Monday (12 - 14): Brief summary, presentation of exam 2018, Q&A.
Wednesday (10 - 12): We talk about solutions to earlier exams.
Friday (10 - 12):  We talk about solutions to earlier exams.

You could have an impact on what we cover in class by letting us know what you need to hear about.

General advice: Use Slack, check out the 'Groupsessions' repo and read lecture slides.

To pass the ROS project you will need to upload your source code and a readme to devilry before 23:59, Monday 13th of May. The readme should briefly describe:

- The functionality of your program, and the difference (if any) from the program you proposed to create.
- How to run each of your launch files and scripts.

Presentation of the project is optional, but recommended. Those that wish to test their code on a real robot can prepare to do this in the group session at Wednesday 15th of May (10:15-12:00, at Limbo). We recommend everyone to show up to at 10:15, to work with old exam problems. We will try to answer questions and help you out, between presentations.

The delivery of a short report of the project is optional, but welcome. This would be in addition to the mandatory delivery of source code and readme as requested above.

All students in the course have been organized in groups on Devilry and received a comment (under the "Project groups" assignment) stating your group members.

The minimum requirement for the project proposals is that you briefly state your goals and how you plan to achieve them. The proposal will pass if it is deemed technically possible and within the scope of the course.

However, it is still recommended that you write a detailed project plan, including the subgoals, the topics involved and possible methods of implementation. You are also welcome to submit the structure of your program containing function names and their descriptions (UML is useful here).

Within two weeks we want you to have found a group and have a approved project. By "approved project" I mean that we have to check that the project is doable and within the scope of the course.

This is how it's going to go down:

  •  This upcoming Monday (and the next) @jorgehn will give a very good, partly hands-on presentation of ROS, and hopefully also present the project.
    **The project is open, and the only requirement is that you use ROS and a small part of the theory from the course.**
    I recommend that you start thinking about which topic of the course that could be interesting to you. Chapter 1 in the textbook is a good start to get an overview of the topics! After the first ROS lecture you'll hopefully have an idea of what could be technically possible with ROS
