Opplegg for obligatorisk oppgave i INF5210

Det vil i h�stsemesteret 2003 bli to obligatoriske oppgaver. I oblig. 1 skal prosjektgruppen skaffe informasjon og presentere deres problemomr�de. Oblig. 2 vil v�re basert p� funn fra den f�rste obligatoriske oppgaven og p� funn fra andre prosjektgrupper. Begge faser skal avsluttes med innlevering av en skriftlig rapport og presentasjon i plenum.� Obligatorisk oppgave er en gruppeoppgave, med grupper p� ca 4 studenter. Studentene vil bli delt inn i grupper p� f�rste forelesning

 

Temaet for den obligatorisk oppgaven er� offentlige infrastrukturer. Hver gruppe skal velge ut en statlig eller kommunal informasjons- eller kommunikasjonssystem som det kan v�re fruktbart � betrakte som en [informasjons]infrastruktur (nedenfor ogs� kalt II). Eksempler p� slike mulige infrastrukturer kan v�re:

-��������� ODIN, Forvaltningsnett, etc

-��������� Helsenettet, Skolenett, Biblioteks/kulturnett.

-��������� Kostra (Kommune-stat rapportering).

-��������� Mer spesialiserte infrastrukturer som f eks. PKI (Publik Key Infrastruktur).

 

Obligatorisk oppgave 1:

  1. Beskrivelse av infrastrukturen

a.                   Infrastrukturens m�l( visjoner), bakgrunn og/eller motivasjon og en kort utredning av den historiske utviklingen av informasjons infrastrukturen.

b.                  Beskriv de tjenester/funksjoner/fasiliteter og andre bruksmessige egenskaper og de prim�re brukere/brukergrupper.

c.                   Infrastrukturens fysiske/tekniske oppbygging og egenskaper, definerte standarder og/eller fastlagte kravspesifikasjoner med mer.

d.                  Den organisatoriske/institusjonelle ramme infrastrukturen er knyttet til og hvordan utvikling og drift/vedlikehold av den er ivaretatt.

  1. Analyse

a.                   Begrunn hvorfor dette er en informasjons infrastruktur.

b.                  Anvend Akt�r Nettverks teori (ANT) i en analyse av utviklingen av infrastrukturen

Obligatorisk oppgave 2:

Innlevering 24.10.03

 

1.�� Analyse

a.       Dr�ft den valgte infrastrukturen opp mot den nasjonale strategi for utbygging av nasjonal informasjonsinfrastruktur (NII). Hvordan finner dere at den infrastrukturen dere har studert inng�r i en overordnet NII?

b.      Analyser infrastrukturen og bruk begreper fra pensum: Installert base, nettverks eksternaliteter, sti-avhengighet, lock-in, bootstraping med mer.

c.       Dr�ft hvilken krefter/motkrefter som henholdsvis stimulerer/motarbeider videreutvikling av II�en.

d.      Kan dere identifisere brukergrupper eller bruksomr�der som dere tror vil bli �skadelidende�/hemmet n�r det gjelder utbygging av felles infrastruktur pga dagens strategi p� det omr�det dere studerer.

 

2.�� Velg to av de andre gruppenes II og dr�ft hvordan disse forholder seg til hverandre og den infrastruktur dere har valgt. Kommenter disse to rapportene.

Project description INF5210:

This semester the student project will be divided in two (2) incremental deliverables. In the first deliverable, the project group will collect information and present their findings regarding their domain of interest. In the second deliverable, the project group will analyze based on their own findings and that of other student groups. The assignment is a group- assignment. A group will consist of 4 students. These groups will be formed on the first day of the lectures.

 

Theme for this student project is public infrastructures. Each group will select a local or domestic governmental information and/or communication system that can be analyzed as a Information Infrastructure(II). Examples that can be studied:

-��������� Helsenettet, Skolenett, Biblioteks/kulturnett,..

First deliverable:

 

To be handed in 09.26.2003

 

  1. Description of the Infrastructure:
    1. The intent of the II (visions), background or motivation and a short elucidation of the historical development of the II.
    2. Describe what kind of services/functions/etc.. and other user dependent properties the II has. And the primary users/user groups.
    3. The II�s physical/technical structure and capabilities, defined standards and/or specifications.
    4. The organizational/institutional framework the II is attached and how it has developed and been maintained.
  2. Analysis
    1. State why this is an II
    2. Use Actor Network Theory(ANT) in an analysis of the II.

Second deliverable:

 

To be handed in 24.10.03

 

  1. analysis:
    1. Discuss the chosen II against the national strategy for development of national information infrastructures (NII). How does your chosen II take part in a superior NII?
    2. Use terminology from readings in your analysis; Installed base, network externalities, path-dependency, lock-in, bootstraping and more.
    3. What forces/anti forces stimulate/strengthen or work against further development of the II?
    4. Can you identify user groups or areas of use that will be bound/limited by building a common NII?
  2. Choose two of the other groups II and discuss how these relate to each other and the II that you chose. Comment on the two reports.
