RoboLab Exercise 7 is now ready. Download the exercise text from the exercise web-page and make an appointment for when you want to perform the exercise. The background for the counter has been measured to 3131 counts in 900 seconds. You need to subtract this number from the number of counts you measure during the exercise. (JPO)

Need help to make digital plots? Those who need help to plot the data from exercise 5 electronically can meet at the counting room in the course lab on Friday 22nd October at 13:00. If you are unable to attend, but need help, please e-mail me to make an appointment. (JPO)

Exercise 5 uncertainty: To estimate the uncertainty in the A0 values deduced from the manual data analysis in exercise 5 is quite complex. Therefore, you can skip this. However, the uncertainty in the counting should be plotted!

Deadline exercise 5 Due to the mid-term exams in week 42 and the KJM 5900 delays at the start of the term, the deadline for exercise 5 (which is a "Mappe" exercise) is postponed one week. The new deadline is Friday 22. October at 16:00. Please do yourself a fawor and deliver your reports well in advance of the deadline - most of you cut it much to close last time... (JPO)

Deadline exercise 3 Many of you have asked if it's possible to postpone the deadline for exercise 3. This is ok, but not recommended... Please finish exercise 3 before Friday 8. October, though. (JPO)

It has been suggested to move the lectures from Thursday to Wednesday, between 10.15 and 12.00. This new time seems more convenient for most students.If someone has objections against moving the lectures, please inform me before Monday 12.00 on my e-mail Per.Hoff@kjemi.uio.no. If no protests are received, the lectures will be moved and the next lecture will take place av Wednesday 6 October at 10.15 (PH)

New Exercise web-page: The KJM 5900 web-page was a little to full and started to become difficult to use. Therefore, the links to lab and practise exercises were moved to a separate web-page . Please communicate any thoughts or objections about this to me! (JPO)

Errors In exercise 27) the counting time is not specified. It should be 60 seconds. In exercise 29) the counter efficiency should be 20%. (JPO)

Exercise 2 is now available. The dead line is postponed to Friday 1. october at 4 pm. If you do not complete this exercise and meet the dead line you will fail on this part (10%) of your exam. (JPO)

Exercises: Exercise set 1 (norsk or english ) is available from the main web-page. Exercise set 2, which is one of the three "mappe oppgaver" and will count 10% on your final mark, will be made available Friday (17. Sep.) afternoon and is due Friday 24. Sep. (JPO).

Gathering! We agreed that we should have a gathering during week 38 to present the group works. Please submit your essays (1-2 pages) before Tuesday 14th of September. I propose to have the gathering Thursday 16th of September from 16:00. If this time is difficult for you, please notify me as soon as possible!. We will serve pizza and something to drink! (JPO)

Rad. protection course Those which didn't participate the first week should follow the lectures of the radiation protection course (it's given in Norwegian). The course starts on Wednesday (8th September) at 9:15 in VU55 (JPO). If you missed laboratory exercise B you must do this on Thursday (9th September) 16:30 (JPO)
