Lecture September 3rd

The plan for the lectures Thursday September 3rd is as follows:

• Joint and marginal and distributions for continuous random variables (section 4.1: from the midle of page 144)
• Independence (section 4.2: parts of pages 152-156)
• Bivariate transformations for continuous random variables (section 4.3: pages 158-162)
• Multivariate transformations for continuous random variables (section 4.6: pages 185-186)

Note that most of the material in sections 4.1 and 4.2 should be known from earlier courses and will not be covered at the lectures.
