Clinical rotation

The clinical small group teaching in Paediatrics and Obstetrics/Gyneocology will mainly take place at Ullevål, Rikshospitalet and Ahus. All students will have clinical rotations in all 3 hospitals.   

Obstetrics and Gynaecology

A total of 14 small clinical groups in obstetrics and gynaecology is given during this module: 5 times at the Labor Ward, 3 times at the Gynaecology Outpatient Clinic, 3 times at the Gynaecology Ward, 2 times at the Antenatal Outpatient Clinic and 1 time at DNR. 

Specification of requirements: During the time in the Labor Ward the student must assist during 3 deliveries (assess cervical dilatation and assist delivering the baby) and observe 1 caesarean section.

Paediatrics

A total of 11 clinical small groups in paediatrics is given during this module: 6 times at the Paediatric Ward, 3 times at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, 1 time at the Paediatric Outpatient Clinic and 1 time at the Voksentoppen Center for Asthma and Allergy. The maximum absence from mandatory small group teaching is 3 times.

One evening session at the Paediatric Emergency Clinic, Oslo Kommunale Legevakt (LEGEV).
