went over the proof again today. Turns out I was right the first time. It's a technical subtlety so most of you probably don't care, but nevertheless, I wanted to make sure it was right. So I reverted to the old proof.

In addition, Katinka suggested that I add a few footnotes to elaborate on these truncated demands. So I did. But like I said in class, all of this is really just for those of you who are particularly keen. NONE of this is examinable material.
