STV2240 - International military operations

Answer one of the following two questions:
- The division of roles between civilians and military actors in a conflict zone in international military operations has become increasingly blurred. Discuss why this blurring has occurred and the consequences it may have in the development of a conflict. Use empirical evidence from Afghanistan and Iraq in your discussion.
- Compare the political aims and military means for the military operations in Afghanistan and Libya. Discuss also whether or not these two operations could be regarded as successful or not.
You can answer the questions in English or in one of the Scandinavian languages.
