Timeplan, pensum og eksamensdato

Kort om emnet

How can researchers access children’s experiences and perspectives on their learning and living?  A range of methodological challenges and possibilities concerning  research with children will be presented and discussed at  different stages of a research study from initial ideas to final dissemination. The course will focus on methodological flexibility and the combination of  different methods and participatory tools which can be used to give children a direct voice in the production of data This will include research examples of working with young children under five years old using the Mosaic approach developed by Alison Clark and Peter Moss. In addition, the course will address problems related to gathering children’s, parents’ and practitioners’ perspectives and the ethical and epistemological issues that arise. There will be discussion of the analysis of data through different waves of interpretation, including children’s and adults’ contribution to the analysis. Questions surrounding the researcher’s voice will be raised.
