Students are generally quiet and reserved, but nighttime social activities in the area surrounding SNU have a festive, party-like vibe. There is a lot of academic freedom in Korea and students are encouraged to think freely and openly about subject materials. The new international student dormitory (completed in 2018) has comfortable accommodations, restaurants and study areas and is located on the edge of a patch of forest within 10 minutes’ walk to the heart of campus.
