Who is eligible for a scholarship?

To be eligible for the scholarship, students must be enrolled at the University of Oslo and plan to hand in their master's thesis in fall 2024 or spring 2025. In exceptional cases, BA students will be considered for the grant as well.

The application must contain:

  • A short description of the project including the research questions/hypotheses and methodology (maximum 3 pages). The student's progress on the thesis and intended submission date need to be stated as well.
  • Transcript of records for BA and MA courses
  • Short recommendation letter from supervisor

The application can be written in Norwegian or English.

Application deadline is September 1, 2024. Applications should be sent electronically (PDF) to Ola Eidet.

To learn more about the design, implementation, and analysis of an eye-tracking experiment, we recommend joining the eye-tracking workshop with Camilo R. Ronderos on June 3-6, 2024. For more information and sign-up, click here

Scholarship procedures

The scholarship is a research scholarship, awarded based on a successful thesis proposal, and does not depend on completing the master's thesis.

The scholarship can be used to cover living expenses and is considered taxable income for recipients. No documentation of costs is required to receive the scholarship. The scholarship will be paid in a single installment, with the awarded amount of 10,000 NOK after tax.

Please note that the research scholarship is taxable. A valid tax card is a requirement for receiving the scholarship, and it is the recipient's responsibility to ensure they have one. All recipients will receive 10,000 NOK, irrespective of their tax rate (provided the recipient holds a valid tax card). For example, with a tax rate of 32%, the scholarship will be listed as a taxable income of 14,706 NOK.

All scholarship recipients will be contacted to provide personal and banking information.
