Technical demands

Below you will find the minimal technical demands that apply when conducting a digital oral exam as an examiner.

Computer

  • Computer with Windows/MacOS is recommended.
  • Tablet/smartphone can also be used, but it is recommended that these tools only act as a backup in case of computer issues.
  • Make sure your computer is updated the day before the exam, to reduce the risk of an automatic update on the day of the exam.

Sound

  • We recommend that you use a headset for higher quality listening sound. You can also use the computer built-in speaker, but the sound will probably be of lower quality because of background noise.
  • We recommend that you use a headset with microphone or an external microphone to make sure your voice can be heard as clearly as possible. You can also use the computers built-in microphone, but then your input sound probably will be of lower quality.

Camera

  • You need a internal camera in your computer or an external web camera.

Internet

  • Position yourself as close as possible to your wireless router. Turn of other resources that might use bandwidth.
  • Backup: Should you lose your internet access at home, you can use internet sharing with smartphone.
