During the examination the cadidates will draw one of the four mandatory assignments randomly. The cadidate will present that assignment using a computer and a projector. The presentation should last 10-15 minutes. Afterwards, the candidate will be questioned on the assignment. Each student will be heard 20-25 minutes.

Tomorrows lecture must unfortunately be postponed. I will appear at Blindern on Friday 10.15-15.00, and if students are able, I will conduct the lecture at that time. Otherwise friday next week will be used instead for the extra lecture. If anyone has difficulty attending at either dates, please send me a mail at Knut.Vedeld@dnv.com

Regarding mandatory assignment 1 and 2 - For mandatory assignment 1, it is no longer required to perform a higher order patch test for the PLANE42 element. For mandatory assignment 2, stress and strain comparisons should be made between the BEAM188 element and the shell elements. Only displacements may be checked using the BEAM44 element.
